Abbaye De Flavigny - Orange, Anise and Violet Flavored Candies From France 3 Pack 3x1.75oz
These little French candies, consisting of an orange, anise or violet flavored grain coated in sugar, are perhaps the oldest in France, mentioned in a document as early as 872!
In the 17th century, when these gourmet candies were manufactured by the Ursuline sisters, 6 months were needed to add and dry the successive coats of sugar.
Today, the factory is still situated at the heart of the ancient abbey in Flavigny (Burgundy), but the process is completed in only 15 days.
These gourmet candies make a wonderful gift. They are imported from France.

Homemade Candied Orange Peel

Homemade Candied Orange Peel
its really hard to go back to the store-bought variety after making my own. using pierre herme’s recipe, the peels hv been cooked in a sugar syrup infused with star anise, vanilla bean, crushed black peppercorns and then left on to macerate overnight. the result? just perfect. i don’t think the ones sold in bakery supplies stores are anywhere close.

Violet&Anise

Violet&Anise
Anise essential oil and sweet violets, it’s akin to those little violet candies.
